FUCK YOUNG THUG AND HIS GENERIC ASS NAME
But yeah, Hip Hop is just waiting for Kendrick and Kanye's albums to drop.
If anybody listens to underground hip hop they have GOT to purchase the triple album from The Grouch & Eligh that came out this year. It's soooooooo dope and with it being three whole different albums (one Grouch & Eligh album, one Grouch solo album and one Eligh album) you can just listen in one sitting if you're stationary for three hours or all separate. Each album is individual yet they all are cohesive together since they were all just recorded together. Underground hip hop is pretty slow these days sadly but they still can produce some of the best hip hop when the old dudes get around to it.
Besides that it's basically been Angle Haze showing girls can KILL IT DJ Mustard and YG's albums that bring back nostalgia to the old E-40, West Side Connection, West Coast Mob music Iggy Azalea is you like dope beats and Kendrick's labelmates Isaiah Rashad, Ab-Soul and ScHoolboy Q all having sick to decent albums (I placed them in order of how good I think each album was)

Apparently Childish Gambino will release both a Mixtape and an album before 2014 ends though!

If anybody wants to hear some trippy and weird R&B, they should check out this dude jr. hi. He has just released his third song total in about 11 months, but his first two songs featured The Weeknd and Childish Gambino and were both just absolutely crazy good. It's not public knowledge of who this dude is although I found a Wikipedia article claiming it's an Electronic producer from the UK. Check out his first two songs on his Soundcloudand his new song was released with this odd video (with quite the hottie running around in it)

Ummmm, don't fuck Young Thug. Stoner is probably the most fun song out right now. I can't understand half the things said in it, but its awesome. And YG, Isiah Rashad, and Schoolboy Q both put out really, really good albums this year. DJ Mustard was a big part of that YG album and his album is great.
And lets not forget Boosie just got out of jail. Ohhhhhhhh shit.
Hip-hop isn't dead. Not yet.

My life is being consumed by "To Pimp A Butterfly"
Is that the same for anyone else?
I feel like this is what people in '67 felt when they listened to "Sgt. Peppers". Before that when people first listened to "Bitches Brew". After that when people first listened to "Kid A".
I have been chewed up by this album, who knows when I will be spit out.......

Consumed is the perfect way to put it. I'm obsessed. It took 4 listens and a bunch of Redditing for it to finally "click" with me where I can sit back and enjoy it without feeling the tension and anxiety of all of the converging entities in this album. I've never had to work so hard for an album. Most may say that's not what they want music to do, and that's not what I want every album I ever hear to do to me. But for those few every decade, it's pretty rewarding.

No King Kunta or These Walls from Kendrick Lamar? I would say No Lupe Fiasco, but the label screwed him and nobody knew his new album existed.
