Sorry, my keyboard is having serious problems. I mean, when I press backspace a w appears. And it would be pretty funny to have an actual election for this.

My Mod experience tells me to recommend that you get a new keyboard.

Are sign and trade deals allowed?
If so, who takes the hit on the resign? Or is that negotiable?

Absolutely no offense intended, but I don't see how you guys think Minnesota is a playoff team next year.

Are sign and trade deals allowed? If so, who takes the hit on the resign? Or is that negotiable? I think that's possible. When the period of re-signs beginns you can re-sign a player and trade him away afterwards In this case the you get the hit on re-sign.

Don't worry it's getting vetoed.

I was in contract talk with the Pacers and had interest in Westbrook. He decided that this was the better offer. Personally, I don't see how, but I'm not him. I have no issue with him moving Westbrook to another team, no issue at all as I am happy with my team. But seeing as tho I had extensive talks with Pacers GM I decided no to vote on this unless I have to since, to me, it is veto worthy for sure (not saying anything negative about anyone here....love ya all!). So, for now I abstain from voting on this one unless called upon. That said, had it been something I felt was not veto worthy I would have voted on it.

I think I have a squad that can compete this year for the ultimate prize so I figured, on top of me knowing Westbrook will/should be a better fantasy basketball player in the years to come than Rubio (and Rubio ain't no slouch either!) I also had to factor in a healthy entering the season Westbrook being a better fit than Rubio.
LOTS of back and forth discussion with a class owner in this league and we reached a deal. Actually, we had reached two separate deals and he chose this one. I won't disclose the other possible deal (as I don't want to disclose who was in it...haha) but it will be fun for Pacers GM "Coach" and I to watch the years to come and think back on this trade!

Also, with my roster one guy short of the max and no contracts expiring after next season I really only needed one pick for this year anyways to fill out the roster (that is if I don't swing any more deals, and I don't even know if I will or not). The pick that remains in next years draft can be used on a player if I open up a spot by then on my team or I could even trade that one away later on. Still have lots of options.
Oh, and there is no guarantee I don't move the last pick of the 1st round here, so, if it gets close to that point and you have interest in it, let me know.

I just have to say I'm quite shocked that this Tyreke, Hansbourgh, a first rounder and second round pick is going to be approved for essentially, just rudy gay...I know he's a multi stat filler but that's an awful lot for a dude that is above average at best. Please someone convince me that Troy Murphy is legit and him being tossed in makes this fair...

Please someone convince me that Troy Murphy is legit and him being tossed in makes this fair... I'm more than happy to explain my approval. Let's start with the obvious: Troy Murphy is worthless. However, he is expiring, so that's less of a hit when you consider Hansbrough has two more years left. Speaking of Hansbrough, he saw a serious hit when David West was signed. Hansbrough's deal has him getting paid $5.5 million until 2014. Last year he averaged 9-4, shot 40%, and really provided nothing else. While Murphy literally provides nothing, the fact his deal was expiring made this one closer than people realize. Moving on to Rudy and Tyreke, here's the breakdown for each from last season: Gay19 pts 6.4 rebs2.3 asts 0.8 blks 1.5 stls 0.8 threes45% FG 79% FT Evans16.5 pts 4.6 rebs 4.5 asts0.5 blks 1.3 stls 0.3 threes 45% FG 78% FT Looking at just the numbers from last year, Gay would be a slightly better fantasy player. However, judging a trade is part projection. The Kings recently signed Aaron Brooks, taking away from Evans' already decreasing minutes at the point. Its not out of the realm of possibility that Evans' assist #'s go down. On the other hand, Rudy Gay's main competition in Memphis on the perimeter, OJ Mayo, is no longer with the Grizzlies. This doesn't mean Rudy's numbers will automatically go up, but this is a positive in his favor. Also, Rudy is on a more cap-friendly contract. Finally, the picks. The second round pick this year is an unknown value. Since teams in this league don't even have to sign second round picks, it could be worthless. The 2014 pick... its really a shot in the dark. So really, looking at the deal as a whole, I didn't see anything that stood out as vetoable (yes, I just made that word up).

Yeah i expected some resistance from Tyreke lovers (who by the way might be an irrational lot ever since he won the ROY award - and then took a two year nap) because Tyreke is overrated by fantasy basketball peoples. Nonetheless, I do think Rudy Gay is a MUCH better player then Tyreke Evans and wouldn't have done the trade w/o the add-ons.
