This is ridiculous. I wasn't going to make the playoffs last year; if I also wanted to cheat and disobey the rules I couldn't gotten a higher draft pick, too!

Knowing those rules were put in place this off-season changes everything. Now that it is against the rules with such a harsh penalty, no way it will happen again.

"it is something we have tried to figure out for years. The rules in place were put in place this off-season as a result of this past season. Rules have been put in place now. We have to see if they work." - Cav's GM.

I see. Well it's unfortunate, but hopefully this rule can prevent this sort of thing in the future.

This all just screams mismanagement of the league to me. How can it take years to perfect? "You have to fill all your ESPN slots with active players. No ifs, ands, or buts". It isn't rocket science

The reason is, if you have scrubs on your team, it means your team ACTUALLY SUCKS and deserves a high draft pick. With 10 players, if 7 are scrubs I don't imagine the other 3 being anything special because that's usually a case of gross mismanagement by the GM. If you have a good team, especially one like Newark's, you do NOT need any assistance. You fucking put players in your lineup. That's cheating if you don't

2. Any player signed as a free agent can not be traded or waived for 30 days. For Free Agents signed before the season starts, the 30 day period begins the day of the first game of the season.
A resigned player could be also viewed as such, i asked one of TC's can i trade my guy once i resigned him, he told me hes still debating it with other TC's, LM's or whateva it was, next thing i see San Diego trade is up with another manager, and everyone approved it without a word.
Now, i'm not gonna go and say FA is = a player you can resign, but its basically same. What does that mean, rules can be forgotten when people wants them to be forgotten, i could be wrong on this one, but it seems like it.

Adam Morrison and Dahntay Jones may be actual people, but they don't play. They provide the exact same thing an empty spot does.

It probably is a little bit mismanagement. It just seems like such an obvious thing to do for someone who's really into fantasy basketball. It's not necessarily cheating, but it's a really lame way to play in a league like this.
It's different if you trade all your guys for picks or young projects. But straight up not playing healthy vets to tank feels wrong.

Guys, this topic has been exhausted for the past year.
Any time you have a league of this size, there is going to be a learning curve. It takes time to get things right. There is a constant, on-going discussion among the moderators as to how we can improve the league, perfect practices, and evolve rules for the better.
We've been at this for 4 years now. We have changed a lot for the better and we continue to try and make it enjoyable for everyone. It's great that we have so many owners who share a passion for basketball. And it's great to have an opinion on all the topics, but this is a topic that has been addressed, it's now in the rules, so I don't know what else to say other than let's look forward to a good 2014-15 season.

It was not an issue until this past season. Rules have been put in place against it.
