I am disappointed about Davies not being in the World Cup, he has been exciting for the US and I want to see how far we can go. Hopefully his back up (I don't know enough about American Soccer to say who it will be) can fill in ok. I hope we can bring it to England like we did to Spain last summer!

I'm excited until the quarter finals in which my dutch team will get a severe asswhooping from Brasil like usual.

The dutch players are only very good when they play with their club. As a national team they kind of suck. But if we don't win it all, i would love to see ribéry or robben win it with their country. So i could at least cheer for one of "our" players

Yeah that's because we only have good attackers which can't play all at the same time, and no real good defenders. And yeah, that's what I usually do when the dutch clubs are eliminated in the CL

I have a friend who is going and I'm so jealous its all I can think about. I've got to root for the US and I think we've got the talent to make some noise again. I'm worried that too much is going to be made of the 1st match against England. If we come out flat there (like we did against the Czech four years ago), it could be such an emotional let down that it would be hard to recover. However a win, or even a draw, could create the momentum to carry us a long way.
Either way, I'm very excited!

I too thought this would be a concern for USA, but the forwards we have put on the team now i think we are set at the forward position. We have 3 guys that can replace Davies now and they have all been hot with their club teams. Robbie findlay play in salt lake and he is very fast and i like his touch. Eddson buddle has 9 goals in 9 games and leading the MLS in goals scored looks like he fit in really good with our team so far(2 goals in South Africa against Australia). Herculez gomez is leading the mexican league in goals with 9 and he comes off the bench every game he knows where to be and is really good at finishing. The defense worries me for the US because we're injured and we haven't looked very good yet. Hopefully we can get stronger in the back.
