Is there any type of reward system set up for the Champion of each season? Obviously I don't mean that the winner will win prize money or anything. But I feel like the winner should get something. This is my first dynasty league, so I'm not sure if there is already a precedent that has been previously set.
Here are my thoughts: Winner gets an increase in salary cap (for following season) and/or Winner gets an extra Re-Sign
In my mind, these options would be most 'realistic.' Meaning that the winning team would get more revenue and be able to spend more money on players. Likewise, players would want to play for a winner and most likely be more willing to re-sign.
Any thoughts?

Good discussion to start Warriors. I have been part of GM and contract leagues and that is what I would call this league although, it is a bit of a dynasty hybrid with those re-signs.
I would say additional re-signs would make a dominant team potentially too dominant over time and give a team too much of an advantage. Good thought to throw out there but that's my quick thought on it.
I think an increase in salary cap is a great idea. In another league (baseball) I am in here is what we do:
2. Teams that make the playoffs will receive bonuses that may be used toward their cap the following season. These are the awards per round. a. Wild-card winners - $250,000 a. Divisional champions - $500,000 b. 1st Rd. (Divisional Playoff) winners - $500,000 c. AL/NL League Championship winners - $1,000,000 d. BCN Pro League champion - $1,000,000
Therefore the League champion would receive a total of $3,000,000 toward his cap for the following season if he won his division, $2,750,000 if he was a wild-card winner. The increase is good for the next season only.
I think this would be a more fitting reward, not just for championship winners, but for division winners, etc. And having the bump only last for the following season.

Thanks for the support GBP. I was thinking about a tiered system with the cap bonuses. I think that those are good numbers too. They wouldn't give the winner that big of an advantage, but would make victory a little sweeter.
I wasn't sure about the Re-Sign. It seemed like a good idea, but as I mentioned, I am naive to the complexities of the dynasty league.

How about Mighty just sends the winner $100 in the mail. Agreed?

The part in red is just what we do in that baseball league. It is a 40-man-roster league with a $100 million payroll. It is what we do there and by no means was my thoughts on good numbers for thls league. Just a starting point example. Edit: I spelled red read.

I like this discussion and think it seems like a really good idea.

I'm open for rewards. I thought about making this a money league from the start, but decided against it. Salary cap rewards are an interesting idea, although they kind of "make the rich richer" which isn't something I like too much.
I was planning on making division, conference, and championship banners that people could post in their signatures, but a more tangible reward as well could be fun.
Keep throwing out ideas everyone!

I think it's OK to have a real reward like increased cap space, as long as it is within limits. Sure, it makes the rich richer, but they deserve a reward for their effort. Losing teams already get higher draft picks, I think cap space is OK for winners.
I'm all for keeping things equal and fair, but owners that put effort should be rewarded, and losing teams should have the opportunity to improve, but it shouldn't be thrown in their lap.

I would be more than satisfied with the banners. The one's you made in Siddy's league were awesome!

I don't like the idea of increased cap space. You're right, Mighty, in saying that the rich get richer. I think that an increased cap could cause an imbalance and it just would not be fair.
I'll brainstorm ideas and post later.

I'll brainstorm ideas and post later. For the record, in my Fantasy Baseball league, it has been used for the first 5 years (in our fifth year) and we have had 4 different champions and the reigning champion is currently 4th in his division. So, it is a reward that, on average, hasn't seemed to matter much, at least on the surface. If spend correctly it can be a nice addition but I don't think it is as big of an effect as other do. That being said, it was merely a suggestion and I really don't care if we use something like it or no reward at all (other than the Mighty Mouse cool graphics, of course).

Extra Re-signs is too much but i love the cap space idea. I feel that to be successful in a league like this you need to work hard; hard enough for a better reward than a banner.
