I'm sure Mighty's banners are quite wonderful.... However, I do think that the winner deserves a larger reward for their hard word. And while that is technically making "the rich, richer," they are also continually getting the worst of every draft. Without a reward system, the motivation would be to load up on only young talent, tank the first few seasons to get great draft picks and then completely dominate. (i.e. Great Britain's stategy... j/k ) With a rewards system, that gives people a motivation to win now and gives a temporary home for the Camby's and Kidd's of the world....before they go to the nursing home. Plus, I don't really see how much of an unfair advantage it would elicit. It's been fun to see the discussion thus far though. Not that I really thought there'd be a void in discussion with this group. Someone could just start a thread entitled 'thumbtack' and we could probably get at least 10 posts off of it.

What about, in all the games next year for the previous year's winner, they get some sort of advantage throughout the season? Maybe a guaranteed category in every matchup until the playoffs? I dont know...

If you increased cap space by "x" million, maybe the winner could get an extra roster space as well so that the money could be put towards a player (I'm thinking like a $1-2 M increase in cap space) in addition to a roster space..

Nope. It would allow you to rotate a player in more often. Pad the stats. Etc. Not a good idea IMO. sorries. Or as gary would say... i think that fair if knicks player can be the one cause the knicks are the best but i don't know.....do you like my pick?

My thoughts:
I will do Championship banners for conference, division, and league champions. They will be fuckin' incredible and everyone will want one.
As far as other rewards, the only one that really jumps out at me is the extra re-sign. Its kind of a big reward, but it won't do anything to help you improve your team, just maintain your championship roster. You won't be adding a player, you'll just be keeping a player you would otherwise lose. You could say that the rich don't get richer, they just stay equally rich.
The re-sign is also a reward with a basis in reality, because players would be more likely to re-sign with a team that they just won a title with (see James, LeBron). One way to make it more fair is that your championship re-sign can only be used for a player that was on the championship roster (i.e. you can't use it on a future acquisition).
It would also add some excitement to the play-offs when a team goes into the final thinking "if I win this, I get to keep [insert franchise player here], if I lose then I have to let him walk." That is a little cooler than, "if I win this I could get an extra $1,000,000 to use on a yet to be determined free agent."
Those are just my opinions and I'm open to more creative ideas, but that is the direction I'm leaning towards now.

Irrelevant for two reasons.
1. He's never won a title.
2. His FA decision wouldn't hinge on whether or not he did win one.
