Portland Trades: SF - Paul George - $18,500,000 (2022) C - Jahlil Okafor - $1,300,000 (2023) 2021 2nd Round Pick POR) 2021 2nd Round Pick (NYK)
Cap Space Before: $950,000 Cap Space After: $1,100,000
Amsterdam Trades: SF - Nikola Vucevic - $19,400,000 (2023) C - Derrick Jones Jr - 250,000 (2021) 2022 1st Round Pick (AMS)
Cap Space Before: $7,875,000 Cap Space After: $7,725,000
Portland Agrees... Paul George, we barely new ye. Is Nikola overpaid? Yes. However, his stats fit really nicely with my roster construction, I believe he's solidly in the prime of his career, and he makes me less nervous than Paul George. He'll be right around a 20-ish ranked player where as PG could fall anywhere from top-10 to top-30. Adding a future 1st round pick and some cheap defensive stats from the reigning Dunk Champion, this feels like the right move for my team, my roster stays balanced and it offsets the unfortunate length of this >$19 million dollar contract I'm trading for.
Also, side note ... I also met Vucevic at an airport one time. He was "working" my gate as some sort of Orlando Magic promotion. Even weirder, it was the second time that's happened to me, as Tyson Chandler handled my luggage as part of a Phoenix Suns promotion at the Phoenix Airport once. Apparently, there's something about these teams naming their arenas after airlines.

I approve...reluctantly. Vooch is a double double machine waiting to happen. While I was looking to rebuild this roster economically with younger players, I’ve “seen the light” on how players are valued here. I was hesitant to set a precedent trading a Top-25 fantasy player for two 2nd rounders, but I have received a player of equal and maybe better value whose contract is reasonable, and gives me a better spread in a 9-category league. Okafor is a fill-in and possibly a future waiver candidate if he doesnt cut it through the Piston’s mirth of Centers, and the two 2nd’s are in next year’s anticipated DEEP draft. All in all I believe this is a fair and equitable trade...but what do I know 😜
Many thanks for the offer, Mouse Man! 😎

Nice use of both basketball players as promotional product placement (real conspicuous) and mirth in a sentence. Some days one is thankful for reading trade explanations.

Mighty, one day you're blowing it up, one day you're making win now moves. Such a flip flopper 2-0

The 2021 2nd Round Pick (POR) that was going to Amsterdam in this trade has been changed to a 2023 2nd Round Pick (POR).

Portland advised me of the mistake, offered me choices of Replacement picks or a cancellation and I choose the 2023 2nd round pick. Many thanks for the honesty and willingness to complete the trade.
