Hey guys, I thought it would be funny to nominate/vote for last year's Trade of the Year (aka the biggest ripoff in hindsight). This is not to burn anyone, merely for fun and maybe some insight for future trade votes.
I'd like to nominate Oakland with the following trade:
Chicage receives: Anthony Randolph Mareese Speights Jeff Teague
Oakland receives: ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Derrick fucking Rose!
Whoohooo 3 non-contributing players for the league MVP and top 5 fantasy player!

Haha, great thread And yea......great trade too! It's not bad like this trade, but the current 800,000 draft picks for 2 double digit picks is pretty awesome as well The Bulls are going to look like they're having middle school b-ball tryouts will all those kids running around in fantasy land.

I wouldn't call Teague a not contributor at all,
After showing so much his rookie year, Speights plateaued after one year, which is pretty disappointing.
Randolph has just never lived up to what every though he could have been.
And then Rose just absolutely BLEW UP this last year!

Idk Rose is quite the injury prone player, and his shooting percentages and passing rate is rather low.

He still hasn't played a regular-season game yet. I'll admit I like what I see, but let's see him get through a full year healthy again before declaring this a huge rip-off.

Guys this post is from 2011. Teague didn't start back then, and Miege just dug this up to show that things can change. When I posted it, it was a huge rip-off in hindsight, and now it's been a normal trade again in hindsight. That's why I made this topic, to see how things change.

I had totally forgotten about this one, of course, and moved Rose for Rondo --> Rubio --> Conley + Hawes --> and now Nerlens. I think that as a point (things change) we should also account for how much trade value i got out of this deal. I know for a fact that any Teague for Rondo offers would have been laughed off at the time. So the trade value didn't change and was immediately cashed in. So it stands - I pulled off the trade of this particular year. Boo-ya!
Now if Anthony Randolph finally cashes in on his talent (I've been told that this is his year!) then all bets are off.
Let's nominate some others eh?

Let's nominate some others eh? Fall 2010: I was in the process of trading off any meaningful pieces for future assets. At the same time, Philadelphia was in "win-now" mode, looking for positive contributor they could find. LeBron James had just left the real life Cavaliers, meaning some were quite bullish on otherwise mediocre Cavalier players. Enter Boobie Gibson. I traded Daniel Gibson for Philadelphia's 2012 1st round pick. At the time, it seemed like a somewhat fair deal. Philly was getting a guy that was about to see a usage increase while trading a pick that would have been in the teens at best. Well, Philly's owner checked out in at some point in 2011, and the 76ers went in the tank. That pick ended up #1 in the 2012 draft... aka the Anthony Davis draft. Yes, I (essentially) traded Daniel Gibson for Anthony Davis.

I'm willing to pass the 2010 Trade of the Year title to Miege then for the Boobie Gibson for Ant Davis deal. Though i think this bends some of the rules of Time-Space as described by someone more famous and intelligent than myself. I'm not certain which rule though since i'd probably need some interest in Mathematics to even read past pg. 2 of whatever document that law is found in.
Congrats Miege!
My reign was short-lived but amusing.
