WAIVERS
If a player's services are no longer desired or you want to open up a roster spot, you can waive the player on the waiver wire. The player will remain on the waiver wire for 72 hours. If the player is picked up by another team within the 72 hour window, the player's contract will transfer over to the new team and you will be relieved of any salary obligations. However, if the player ISN'T picked up 100% of the player's salary will remain on your Cap Space as a hold for the remainder of the contract.
To waive a player make a new thread in the Waiver Wire section with the players name as the title and include his contract size and length.
CLAIMING A WAIVED PLAYER
If you wish to stake a claim on a waived player, post in the the players thread that you wish to do so. i.e. "The Pistons will claim ____________ ". At the end of the waiver period, the player will be awarded to the team highest on the waiver priority list. If a player is not claimed he will be placed on the Available Free Agents list.
AMNESTY WAIVERS
New owners will be allowed a one-time amnesty waiver exception when the take over a new team. This allows new owners the chance to get rid of unwanted contracts that they inherit. Amnesty waived players are NOT eligible to be claimed. They will go straight to free agency.
There is no cap hit taken for an amnesty waiver.
New owners may waive as many players as they want, but they all must be waived at once (with 72 hours, and before any other roster moves, ie. trades or signings).
OTHER RULES
New Free Agents signed will have a Trade and Waiver Restriction for 30 days. If that player was a Free AGency signing before the season starts, the 30 Day Period will begin once the first game of the season starts.
