National League Divisional Series
Reds vs. Phillies ---> I say Reds in 4 very close games. They will beat Halladay in game 1 and win in a walkoff at bat in game 4 in front of the home crowd.
Braves vs. Giants ---> Giants in 3. Braves looked bad against the Phillies reserves this past weekend. Giants sweep.
American League Divisional Series:
Rangers vs. Rays ---> Rays in 4. Clifford Lee does not pitch the Rangers beyond this series. Hamilton is a huge question mark (he is still bothered by the rib injury).
Yankees vs. Twins ---> only 5 games series of the first round. Twins take care of business at home. Morneau (if eligible) hits a walkoff pinch hit HR in game 5.
Who do you guys think wins? And who are you pulling for?
I'm a Reds fan..hoping to see them knock off the Phils. My homer prediction is that we win game 1, lose 2 and win 3 AND 4 at home to get to the NLCS against the Giants.
I'd love a Reds/Rays WS..

Phillies over Reds in 4 Note: Reds were the best of a OK division. They did what they were supposed to in beating up and taking to the woodshed all crappy teams but faired eh or ok against the rest.
Giants over Braves in 6 Note: This is more a gut call than anything. I think it is a push.
Rays over Rangers in 4 Note: This is a virtual lock.
Twins over Yankees in 4 Note: Twins have been dominant in their home park and hold home field advantage. If it goes 5 games tho I give the advantage to the Yankees.
UPDATED. I still say anyone who picks the Reds over the Phils is certifiably insane.

Dammit! Well, they shouldn't be! I guess the play-in game the Twins have had to play the last two times has schewed me a bit.

Phillies in 3. The cards gave the reds the divison and the Phils might be the best team in baseball heading into the playoffs. The reds are a good regular season team, but against top competition i don't think they can hang.
Braves in 5. Bobby cox wills this series win. Very even teams
Rays in 4. The rangers hit better, but i think the rays got the pitching to neutralize it.
Yanks in 5. This will be tight one,the twins are a very good baseball team and the yanks pitching is not as good as last year.

The bullpen will be the key on both sides in the Twins/Yanks series. Book it.

Roy Halladay. I'd pick the Phillies over the Reds just because of the Reds' inconsistent pitching. I'd loved to have seen Travis Wood get a start in the postseason...
Omar Imfante ended the season batting quite badly, and the rest of their bats, Derrek Lee, McCann don't seem to be too hot. The Giants almost had to play the Padres in a playoff, which would have been embarrassing, but Zito did pitch, so that's a reason. Lincecum, Sanchez, and Cain are too good to not see the Giants win.
Rangers rested up their lineup (I know, I needed Vlad to hit me some homers in the last two weeks and was dissapointed) and they look nice. The Rays have good bats and good defense, but it comes down to their pitchers. After Price...? Garza was pitching mediocre, and Shields was okay during the end of the season. They should start Hellickson in game 4 if they can win a game before that.
The Yankees are old. I hope Swisher and Petitte are healthy, and that Jeter gets his bat going again. But the Twins don't have Morneau, and Brian Dunsening looked like shit in his last start of the season. Don't know who wins this series.
I'd love to have a team to cheer for, but the Nationals are nowhere near the postseason...

He actually lived in KC last year and went to a few Royals vs. Pirates games. I told him I could not imagine a bigger waste of money, haha.
