Just curious: how will the draft order in each round be determined ?

That is still being discussed. The order will be determined by a random lottery with all teams having equal odds using this random order generator: tools.fantasysportsfactory.com/DraftOrderGenerator/random.php?mode=restartSince TD and I know each other, it will be done with both of us present to insure fairness. We're still discussing whether or not to do a regular draft, snake draft, or randomize every round. If anyone has any thoughts on this, I'd love to hear them. My vote at the moment is for the snake draft, because I think it makes the most even rosters.

There is a huge difference between drafting 1st or 30th.
To limit the importance of the lottery, we shouldn't use a "simple" snake draft. Maybe something like ABBBABA (lottery order for round 1,5 and 7 and reverse lottery order in rounds 2,3,4 and 6)

That is definitely an option. You're right about the difference between 1st and 30th, but theoretically 1st and 60th should be pretty equal to 30th and 31st. But I hear what you're saying. The top five fantasy players in basketball can give a team an incredible advantage that doesn't really exist in football or baseball.

I just checked my order proposal with the ESPN player rater to see how it would work.
Here are the results i got:
Picks 1-60-90-120-121-180-181 = Total 35.45 pts Picks 10-51-81-111-130-171-190 = Total 28.86 pts Picks 20-41-71-101-140-161-200 = Total 28.7 pts Picks 30-31-61-91-150-151-210 = Total 29.86 pts
As expected the #1 pick still has an advantage but the rest seems pretty balanced.

How do those numbers stack up with the ABABABA method?

Ya I know, I'm just curious how the numbers you showed for ABBBABA compare to the numbers for ABABABA (Is there a huge difference in the top teams in a ABABABA draft that your suggestion fixed)

Ok i did the computations with ABABABA
1-60-61-120-121-180-181 = 37.12 pts 10-51-70-111-130-171-190 = 29.68 pts 20-41-80-101-140-161-200 = 28.01 pts 30-31-90-91-150-151-210 = 27.91 pts
There is not a big difference but the lottery luck has slightly more influence.

This is great info. It seems like the point differential between those two options is minimal enough that the real difference in teams is going to come from owner's skill in drafting, not what position they draft from (which is the way it should be). I think at this point the more important variable to take consider is the final salary obligation for each draft position. That should be as even as possible and just takes some simple math to figure that out.
Thanks for your input B.

Which me and you did the math already Mighty and there is really just a $3 million difference between the 1st and 30th pick which should even out if we have the 30th pick pick 1st and 1st pick 30th in the Rookie draft

which should even out if we have the 30th pick pick 1st and 1st pick 30th in the Rookie draft That's a good idea ! If we reverse the order for the rookie draft, we could keep a "normal" snake draft. Everyone would have an advantage somewhere.

Everyone would have an advantage somewhere. I agree. ABABABA for the inaugural draft. BA for the rookie draft. I'll give everyone a few days to object or come up with a better idea, then I vote that this becomes the strategy.

I am totally on board with the ABAB and then BABA method. That is the best option....always. My opinion has been heard.
