TEAM LOCKER ROOMS
Every team in the league will have their own designated Locker Rooms. This area will have some requirements from the league but generally is the GM's own space for individuality.
LOCKER ROOM REQUIREMENTS:[/color]
Team Rosters - Your team members, players on IR, contract size and lengths, cap space, cap holds & drafts picks owned should all be clearly stated.
Team Transactions Record: - As a GM you are required to keep a transaction record and present it in a clear and understandable layout. Trades, Free Agency Signings, Re-signings, Draft Picks and Waivers should all be kept track of on this with dates included.
Team Trading Block: - Whether it's none of your players or all of them having a block in your Locker Room allowing other GM's to see who is available or not is really helpful to everyone.
TEAM ROSTER REQUIREMENTS:
- There will be a hard salary cap at $60,000,000. This means at any point you are not allowed to exceed this limit.
- Minimum team members will be set at 8 players. You must have at least 8 at the beginning and throughout the season.
- Maximum active team members allowed will be set at 10 players. Same as the minimum, you must have no more then 10 active players beginning and throughout the season (If a trade will place you over the roster limit you must clearly state in the trade acceptance you are aware of this and who you will drop if the trade goes through)
- Team roster limits are not in effect via Trades and Draft Picks (not Free Agent signings) during the offseason, But the hard salary cap always is in effect
- If a player has a team option, that must also be present in the information. We ask it looks like this:
Blake Griffin $5,000,000 (2012, 2013x)
The contract being through 2012 with 2013 as a team option.
SALARY CAP:
- As stated, there is a hard salary cap at $60,000,000. This means at any point you are not allowed to exceed this limit.
- You may trade for cap space that will be added to your cap, and deducted from the other team's cap. These cap space trades are in effect for the remainder of the current season. Everyone's cap reverts back to $60,000,000 at the end of the season (before the draft).
- If, at the time that the cap is reset, your roster puts you OVER THE CAP, you can not make ANY roster moves until you've come under the cap. This means:
If, at the start of the season you are still over the salary cap, you will forfeit the next 1st round pick you own AND any match-up your team plays until you are under the cap. The league reserves to right to confiscate further draft picks at their discretion or to remove an owner from the league if they are unable to get their team under the salary cap.
INACTIVE RESERVE:
There is a way to exceed the 10 player maximum and that is with the IR or Inactive Reserve. This is for any player you wish to keep rights to, but they will not be available to play.
Whether the player is injured, in the development league, overseas, smoking weed in Canada, in jail, pursuing an acting career, or whatever, you will retain the rights of this player for the time frame of the contract.
There will be 2 IR spots for every team.
When activating and deactivating players they must stay active or on the IR respectively for at least week. This is to prevent using the IR as an 11th and 12th active roster spot and for injured players and developing talent.
Keep in mind the contract will still count against your Cap space, but not your Roster space. You are basically paying for the rights to this player.
We do ask you make sure and keep your Team Roster updated in your Team Locker Room with who is inactive and who is active so there is no confusion.
TEAM LINE-UPS:
The Daily Line-Ups will be set up as:
PG - Point Guard
SG - Shooting guard
SF - Small Forward
PF - Power Forward
C - Center
UTL - Utility
UTL - Utility
You will have the opportunity to update these lineups daily.
