Yeah, we are doing the lottery the same way the NBA does. Personally, I think it would be SWEET if we have the worst record in our league attached to the team with the worst record in the real NBA and so on so when they announce the order our order is determined by that. I bet we could help boost the NBA lottery announcing show ratings! Im not against that but since we have no Twolves I guess Pound doesnt get any picks Maybe he can draft all of the foreign players I am just gonna assume this was purely a statement made for humor sake and to poke fun of my love for the foreign players since my roster is full of them. Which, I admit, is a nice jab that I laughed at. ;D But....just in-case (since it was very dry sarcasm....my favorite kind) it was not sarcasm and was a legit statement then I will clarify. Just kidding. Not going to clarify. I know it was sarcasm and if it wasn't then you are in the dark and will have to ask Miege to explain it further. But my idea does provide full transparency for the league as to the randomization of the lottery order in the league. It would rule out any possibly future claim that our lottery was rigged.

I wasnt really saying you can draft all foreign players because you already have a bunch, I just meant that since you are over seas you dont get rights to any of the American Rookies. But again, Im not against the idea, we'll just have to remember what teams were what as the years go by

But again, Im not against the idea, we'll just have to remember what teams were what as the years go by Ok.....with this statement I know you aren't following my idea really well....let me further illustrate. Do not think of our league and the NBA as a comparison of original franchise names (like you have always been the Kings and I was the Wolves before the Pound). This is totally not involved in this idea. Lets say in the real NBA the the worst franchises are these (for ease of use I will only list three teams....obviously the lottery includes more teams). 1. Nets 2. Bucks 3. Raptors Now, Lets say in our league the worst three franchises are: 1. Pound 2. Cavs 3. Oaks So, basically for the purposes of the 2011 NBA draft lottery selection show the Pound are the Nets in real life, the Cavs are the Bucks in real life and the Oaks are the Raptors in real life. Now we have the NBA lottery results revealed. In the real show on TV it is announced that the order of the top three will be: 1. Raptors 2. Bucks 3. Nets Thus, our top three picks in 2011 would be: 1. Oaks 2. Cavs 3. Pound So, basically on the night the lottery show is on tv I would be cheering for the Nets to get the top overall pick. The Cavs (Miege) would be cheering for the Bucks to get the top overall pick. And that crazy acorn (the Oaks franchise) would be cheering for the Raptors to move up to that top spot. Obviously, this would cover more teams (our entire lottery list) but for ease of example I shortened the lottery to three teams. ;D

oh I see I thought you meant just use the real NBA teams, it would obviously put teams like the Lakers and Heat at an unfair disadvantage but I wasnt against it because things will change in the NBA over the years and would make the draft lottery more fun to watch. Your idea works, however, and yeah I like it

Wow... Always like to be used as an example. Display exemplary behavior and whatnot. However, I have a feeling that the very fact that i set my line-ups, update my transaction records, keep active on trades, etc. will ensure i'm not in the lottery since, oh i don't know, 10 teams don't even know what the fuck is going on here or why the 2nd Rd. of the rookie draft was made into some sort of reward. Isn't that the point of this hijacked thread? Taking care of business?
Anyhow i'm glad all the scrubby teams are excited about next years Rookie draft (It's comin soon fellas - only 10 more months!!!) but those of us who are competing would like to carry on with the rest of this years....

Lol. Oaks got called out as the worst team. Oaks, I don't think you have anything to worry about, I smell playoffs in your future.
And I love the fantasy connection to the real lottery. That is a great idea, Pound. We might just have to implement that.
And please everyone be patient. If we are going to be replacing people, that will be a long process. We've got over 20 very dedicated and very active owners and we've got a few flakes. If I need to replace people, I will, but for now just realize that the season doesn't start until the END OF OCTOBER, and there is plenty of time to complete the 2nd round of the rookie draft as well as free agency.
Soon enough, we'll all be able to move on. I promise.

I also like that idea Pound. I was with the Kings at first and thought that you meant we'd be tied to our actual NBA teams (good for you, me, and Love; bad for Charros, Heat, etc.), but instead matching the rankings of the NBA teams in the lottery sounds like a good plan. It would be much more transparent..and as you said...make the lottery a little more excited (for half the league, anyway).

Yeah Oaks, I think it was just an example... you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

I heard your idea before Pound, I don't know if you mentioned earlier or anything, but I also support the idea. Though I have good faith in the integrity of our mods, more transparancy is always a good thing.

I like pound's idea. I watch the lottery every year anyways cause im a loser, but this would make it much more exciting for everyone.
Are we almost done taking care of business?

Is that code for "Bobcats fan"? And yes, we're ALMOST done taking care of business. It appears that we will be replacing two teams because they couldn't get their shit together. New York (again), and Lexington (unless he shows up very soon). The 2nd round of the draft should start this week. Thanks for your patience everyone.

The Lexington replacement whould have a lot of work to do, cause it seems that the Greywolves only have Bosh, B. Davis, David West, T-Mac and Q. Richardson on their roster. And i begin to think the reason that all NY owners get inactive may result of the fact that everyone hates that team But at least this new owner would get a solid team only the wasted 10th rookie pick is sad ... cause picking a player as bad as a second rounder and paying him 3 years the salary of a number 10 pick sucks ...

Since we have a new owner entering into this situation this a a very good point brought to light. Something should be done about the salary of said draft pick if it is utilized by the team. This would not be something that would affect owners to lazy to make their picks on time in the future but in this case, with new ownership coming in, would be something that should be explored by the league.
