Is there any body here that may live in the Chicago area, or follow the Bulls intimately, or a Memphis Tigers alum/fan or anyway you may have some extra information to the Derrick Rose situation outside of the Deadspin/TMZ articles.
I'm trying to wrap my mind out around the allegations. From what I know about Rose, which is not a whole lot, I just don't see it. He's a father, and always seemed like a mature and reserved guy. This whole story just makes me sad. Sad if it's true because how can someone be that evil? how can someone with everything in the world need to do such horrible things to a woman? If it's false, how can someone accuse another person of this and it not be true? Why would you want to ruin someone's life? If it's not true but she truly believes it, what trama did she suffer to lead to this?
So is there anybody out there with any extra information or insight on how it's being reported/discussed in Chicago or Memphis? I would like to know more

I don't know much about the case or the details, outside of the allegations against him, but am intrigued by this also. While I know millionaire athletes, especially young ones, get targeted all the time by predatory scum, I'm not the least bit surprised that Rose is capable of such an act. Sorry to fans of CHI and/or Memphis (not sure why any fan of Memphis would still like Rose after the Calipari-Rose scandal anyhow) but Rose strikes me as a shit-for-brains dumbass. Almost partially retarded in interviews. Furthermore, nobody should be surprised about his lack of a moral compass either. This is the same guy who had someone else take his SAT so he could get into a crummy academic program - on an athletic scholarship no less! I mean, like I said, I don't know what occurred between Rose and this woman, but I certainly have seen enough of his character to believe he was capable of such a base action.
More interesting to me is how quickly he'll be forgiven once it's settled out of court with a lump sum; same as Kobe and Rothlisberger and countless others before him (Cosby excepted). I'll remember though.

No one's going to argue it was wrong for Rose to have someone else take his SAT... but I don't think it's a black and white situation when you consider the age limit. It's not as easy as, "cheating is wrong," when not cheating means you're not able to eventually take care if your family.
It's the old would you steal to feed your starving family conundrum.

To say "because he cheated on his SAT's, he could drug and rape a woman" is very dangerous and unfair. Just because he's not the most intelligent sounding human being by no means means that he's capable of such a thing. There's a lot of shit for brains athletes and about .01% of them would think its ok to rape a woman.
No one knows what happens but, being entrenched in the Jameis Winston saga, I know to withhold judgment until all the facts come out. I just hope it's not true.

If I was Derrick Rose I would have cheated on the SATs too if it meant I got to be a superstar athlete. Don't think that should show anything about his character.
Unfortunately this might be a case we just never find the answer too. It's such a gray area because it's a serious accusation and horrible if true, but there may no actual evidence besides a he said she said and you can't assume someone is guilty.

Exactly... that Winston deal though.... woof. That one reeked of preferential treatment. not to rehash this but...preferential treatment doesn't mean he did it. There are facts that could not be misconstrued (drug/alcohol tests, 4 versions of the same story, etc...). Again, he could've done it. I don't know. But something was fishy.

Yeah... something was fishy with the investigation. That's for damn sure.
