As someone who has no dog in this fight, did everyone agree with the 4 teams?

We win, I get Julius randle. You win, you get Kyle Anderson. Deal? Haha No deal! So you're a Nole? What is your take on Winston? I personally think he's a piece of shit and I think FSU should have state funded suspended for how they treated the case way back when it first was presented to them and I think people in the Tallahassee police department should lose their jobs. Even if her story has holes or is completely fabricated the lack of investigations into the allegations by both until they were forced to is pretty appalling to me. It seems like the school and police department care more about winning football trophies then protecting their female students/citizens. I'm curious on someone's take more invested in it all. As someone who has no dog in this fight, did everyone agree with the 4 teams? I think TCU is a better team then Ohio State, but I think Ohio St. deserves to be in it more based on their body of work. I think TCU and Ohio State (maybe even Baylor) are better teams then FSU, but you can't argue with that 0 in the loss column. I'm satisfied we got FSU. One I want to beat them but two I think they are the weakest team of the four.

The FBS could take a page out of the FCS, where the playoff field is determined by what actually happens... and not just comparing one conference against another.

I think the committee nailed it. I think Ohio State was the right choice, I think TCU and Baylor have no one to blame but themselves (and the Big 12 leadership) for not being in the play-offs. I've actually been very impressed with the committee this season and think that they've gotten the rankings right week in and week out. I also don't understand why people have such a hard time understanding the thought process. Its about total resume, and TCU and Baylor just don't have the resume. That's not even arguable in my mind.
Does not having a conference championship game hurt? Yeah. Duh. Does playing a candy ass non-conference schedule hurt? Yeah. Duh.
Why are people shocked by this?
The beauty of the 4 team playoff is not that everyone gets a shot at the title. That’s never going to happen and a 6 or 8 or 16 team playoff won’t change that. The beauty is that the two teams in the championship will have had to prove themselves against a top team along the way. It eliminates the “they’re undefeated so we have to put them in there” argument. No more fraudulent Notre Dame teams getting blown out in the biggest game of the year.
I personally think FSU is not a top 2 team (maybe not a top 4 team). But if this were last season we’d see FSU vs. Bama and Bama would win by 20+ and Oregon fans would be sitting at home shaking their head saying I told you so.
This season if FSU (or Ohio State) ends up in the NCG, they will have earned it. Say what you want about the ACC or Big 10, if they knock of Oregon or Bama in a semi-final, they’ve earned their way into the NCG no doubt. Whatever combination of these four teams ends up in the NCG, they will have earned and deserved their spot there. That is a welcome change from the BCS.

the Baylor Coach and Big 12 commissioner need to stop being whiney little bitches. It's their fault this happened not anyone else. Especially the Baylor coach throwing shade at Tom Osborn and the West Virginia AD saying they are "representations" for the true Big 12. bitch bitch bitch
I respect Gary Patterson for not making excuses and rolling with it.

This is long so i apologize. I appreciate your point of view and understand where you're coming from. However, if the story does have holes or is completely fabricated, then even a full investigation with 0 holes or missteps along the way would exonerate him fully. What people don't understand (not saying you) is that just bc TPD botched the investigation doesn't make him any more guilty. Saying FSU should have their funds suspended is the most wrong way to go about this possible. There are over 40,000 students that attend the school. To take away funds would be devastating to the other 39,999 students that had nothing to do with this. Unfortunately, there are many ways which FSU should have handled this, so i'm not exactly sure which part you are referring to (Title IX investigation, letting him play, lawyer intervention) but nothing they did should warrant that kind of reaction in my opinion. TPD has been brutal to athletes in the past. It's funny that people think they're protective when, in the past, they've gone out of their way to make an example out of athletes. I think the "care more about football than justice" is an easy assumption to make but i don't think it's necessarily true. If it is, that's the most corrupt governmental body in the country. Obviously, with a horse in the race, i think what's been done to Jameis has been a bit unfair but TPD should have ABSOLUTELY done a better job. I think the investigation by the State's Attorney was done well enough to say that the evidence (or lack thereof) wasn't substantial enough to bring about charges. That doesn't change anyone's mind, but it's significant. I know Jameis more personally than just an alum and fan of the football team. I worked at the hotel where the team stayed on Friday nights when they had home games. He was one of the nicest, most polite people on the team. Would sit in the lobby and sign autographs and take pictures until FSU staff had to physically remove him bc he was about to be late to a meeting. I don't take the rape allegation with a grain of salt, but there isn't one part of me that believes he's a degenerate lowlife or, as you so eloquently stated, a "piece of shit". He's a moron for not understanding the magnitude of the magnifying glass on him while he continued to do silly things. But raise your hand if you or someone you know hasn't shoplifted or shouted obscenities or played with BB guns or something of the sort. The piling on is so unnecessary and it all stems from the fact that people think he's a rapist.

Every week, they think they've got us and finally that big bad wolf will be shot and killed. And every week, we decide to turn it on and ruin those people's dreams. I think we've now gone from the hunted to the hunter. 8.5 pt underdogs is so disrespectful. Last I checked, Oregon hasnt played in a game of this magnitude. Yet we get no respect and Oregon fans (like yourself) are glad to get to play us. That's just crazy to me. Oregon is a very good offensive football team. Their defense is terrible. If you're gonna beat us, you're gonna have to score 40+. While Oregon is absolutely capable of doing so, I think giving us 3 weeks to prepare for that tempo is going to make it difficult to do that.I don't want to sit up here and pull the "well we play big boy football here in the South", but I think it matters to an extent. Oregon tends to struggle against big, physical defenses. Stanford circa 2012 and 2013 comes to mind. We've got a bunch of athletes so you won't necessarily be able to outrun us either. You will make offense look easy at times. You'll score points. But when it's the 4th Q and there's a 3rd down and 8 you need to convert, will you be able to make the play? There is absolutely no chance this is a blowout. It might come down to who has the ball last. But when we're bleeding, you better shoot us in the head. If not, you'll just be #30 to us. (This has a slight tone of satire to it so please don't think i'm 100% serious. I got a little carried away, but this game just pumps me up. 24 days!)

The piling on is so unnecessary and it all stems from the fact that people think he's a rapist. I respect and appreciate your input Josh. That's cool you know him so well. He made some stupid mistakes and wasn't mature enough for all of the attention on him, but you can then talk about Colt Lyerla, Jeramiah Masoli and LaMichael James (isolated incident) with us, so I get the need to defend him when you know the media isn't accurately portraying things. My call for the state funding cut was on their lack of investigation until Title IX forced them to almost two years after the incident. Also, the way the school made sure to say "we are required to so that's why we are doing it" just rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe it's striking a nerve implanted in my from all of the Ray Rice stuff going on right now bringing violence against women to the forefront. Perhaps I'm just a getting swept in the hype-narrative. But that just seemed so erroneously irresponsible to me it frustrated me to hear of it coupled with TPD's botched investigation.

Yes it's just a step lower but with current players on this roster there was the Fiesta Bowl in 2013 as well. Their defense is terrible. If you're gonna beat us, you're gonna have to score 40+. False I don't want to sit up here and pull the "well we play big boy football here in the South", but I think it matters to an extent. Oregon tends to struggle against big, physical defenses. That narrative isn't completely false, but it's also completely overblown and this season we have shown we have addressed that issue in our recruiting. Re: Michigan State I got a little carried away, but this game just pumps me up. 24 days! ME TO!
