TRADES
Trades are an integral part of running a franchise in this (or any) league. Any and all of your assets are available to trade including players, draft picks, and cash.
MAKING A TRADE
All trade negotiations should be conducted with other teams via Private Message. When all teams involved have come to an agreement one of them should post the trade by creating a new thread in the trades forum. The title of the thread should include names of each team involved (ex. Chicago/New Orleans). The post should include the following information:
- The names and contracts of all players involved.
- Any and all other assets involved (this includes cash and draft picks).
- A breakdown of who is trading who and who is receiving who.
Each team must also make a post stating their acceptance of the trade.
TRADE APPROVAL
Once a trade is posted with all the necessary information it is opened up to moderators to vote on. 3 'yes' votes gets an approval. 3 'no' and the trade is denied. The first side to get 3 votes either way decides the fate of the trade.
OTHER RULES
- Draft Picks can only be traded 4 years out.
- Each team is allowed one "Trade Block" thread to post players that they are trying to move, players they aren't trying to move, or players they are looking to pick up. Your trade block will be located as a separate thread in your team locker room.
- March 1st is the Trade Deadline date. Any trades still be voted on during this time will continue until they are either approved or denied, but no new trades can be posted. After March 1st there will be a Transaction Deadline until the beginning of the playoffs, this only includes Free Agency signings and waivers, no trading. Trading will be reopened in the offseason at a specified time early in the summer.
IMPORTANT TIPS
- An example trade is posted in the "Trades" Forum
- Trades are judged on overall fairness and equality and the staff does its best to keep an open mind in voting.
- Cash that is included in a trade is added to the salary cap of the receiving team (and subtracted from the cap of the team that traded it) FOR ONE YEAR ONLY.
