This is NOT my re-design I plan on now doing on my website, so, it will look different. This design is 6 months old, roughly, and the new design will be 100's of pages instead of just one link page. However, in that re-design I will be putting a rss feed box on each and every page. I need to make sure the feed is working properly to a segment of people. It does not look good, design-wise, but it is merely a test. Please, spend a couple minutes and check it out and let me know here if the things are displaying correctly and what browser you are using. I need to know if the graphic showing examples of election merchandise (John Thune bumper sticker, Marty yard sign, Rick Perry button, etc) is showing up and also if, at the top left part of the page a RSS feed titled "NPR Politics RSS Feed" is displaying and fading in and out different content. Please let me know if you are seeing these things and what browser you are using. Thank you so much. I want to doubly make sure it is working before designing 100's of pages. The site is: www.danhdesigns.com

Ya the website seems to be working correctly fine for me. Is this going to be mainly an online portfolio of your work?

Ya the website seems to be working correctly fine for me. Is this going to be mainly an online portfolio of your work? Good to hear. Thank you as well! +1 Karma for ya. The website actually started out over a couple years ago as an online educational portfolio of my school work and about 6 months ago I transitioned it into a one page marketing tool to my twitter account and facebook company page, blog etc. I graduated graphic design school 3 years ago. I won't go into it in-depth, but, until about 15 months ago I really didn't do much with my education. However, my intent prior to going back to college was to exit college and build a nice small home business over time while keeping my 40-hour a week job. So, build it up slowly over my spare time, etc. The first thing I wanted to do was to build a strong Internet shop presence. The reasoning behind this is three-fold. (1) I was (still am) single with no big commitments so I have the time to do this and (2) it will be a consistent source of revenue once I develop, place on products and successfully market my designs as a good portion of the designs will be timeless except for the candidate specific election designs, which, have to be redone every couple years. The third reason (3) is the percentage of Internet sales in overall retail sales will continue to grow over time. I now have a nice grouping of designs that I have been working on for the last 15 months up on products now that get decent sales from the CafePress marketplace. However, the designs do not show up in search engine results so now that I have enough stuff to market it is time I make this website really work for me and drive traffic to my CafePress storefronts. This website will grow to over 100 pages, maybe even 200. Each design will have it's own page. Each page will be optimized for search engines to find it and, God willing, rank it very high in the search results. Same thing for searches on images as my images will be tagged and be optimized for search engines. One of the many things that search engines look for is constantly changing content. Having a RSS feed on each page makes the content of that page change every second. That is why making sure the RSS feed is working is so important prior to the big website build project that I will begin once I wake up in the morning. The process will take weeks I am sure....maybe even a month and a half. Maybe faster. But when done it hopefully will give my shops a nice bump in traffic and also sales. I will continue to add new designs to my storefronts after the website is finished, in part, to continue to build a professional portfolio. The day will come when I actively start looking for specific client-based work to do in addition to this. But for now, this is my baby and it is still growing. I know, a long answer to a short question. Awhile back I stopped dreaming and, well, following my dreams, obviously. Roughly 15 months ago I changed course and now I am almost finished setting up the foundation of my Internet sales and online company marketing. So on the days I am seemingly on here all the time responding to this and that I likely am, as well, working on the re-design at the same time or, after it is done, a new design.

Gonna start the design concept process in about an hour after lunch and while I watch the Minnesota Twins beat up on the Brew Crew! +1 Karma for you just like the others! I like to reward those who help out others.

LOL. It won't allow me to give you karma JJ. Must limit the karma that can be given out each day or something.

FYI: I am in a few fantasy sports leagues. I did the same post in every one of them. This is the only league were people gave their help on this. That is a credit to this league in my mind.
