The Owner - Pat Boone - A christian evangalist thrown out of the good graces of the community upon making a cover album of Metal songs. He also had the second best selling records of the 50's behind some dude named Elvis Presley. Add in a toupee and the dream of being a cowboy from the clip below and you'll understand why the Oakland Oaks failed after 2 years (aside from low attendance of 2,000 a night) Pat Boone - "Thiiiis issss my Will Roger's hair" The Team - Played in Oakland with the San Francisco Warriors across the bay (same as they will be in 3 years) and eventually hijacked the Warriors best player, Rick Barry, and won the ABA championship in 1969 before moving to Washington and calling themselves the Caps. Eventually Gilbert Arenas solidified the Caps -> Bullets -> Wizards "street cred" with a box of guns (not cap guns). Jarvaris Crittenton did nothing... Free Jarvaris Crittenton! Being too poor to afford a gun is not a crime! The Mascot- An Acorn. Personified. And clearly delusional - which may have come from being associated with the least creatively titled team in the ABA. Cleveland Cleves anyone? You'd think the hilarious Pat Boone would have thought this through a little better - apparently not. Or maybe he's the funniest man ever known. Unintentionally of course. End Factsheet...

Arena - I forgot about this... Since the Oracle arena will soon be the largest boarded up building in East Oakland (just narrowly beating out the former High School in Fruitvale) the Oakland Oaks will be needing a new place to play ball... That works... versatile and mobile in case our team doesn't make it 2 years like the old Oakland Oaks...
