The following trade is announced:
Brooklyn Nets send:
Dwight Powell (PF/C) $5.00M (2020) *signing rights*
2020 Rookie 2nd picks #32 & #40
TOTAL TEAM SALARY BEFORE: $21.95m TOTAL TEAM SALARY AFTER: $36.45M
Amsterdam Astronauts send:
Kemba Walker (PG) $14.5M (2023)
2020 Rookie 2nd Pick #37
Cash Obligation to Walker's Salary: $1.00m (2021) *this upcoming season*
TOTAL TEAM SALARY BEFORE: $52.125m TOTAL TEAM SALARY AFTER: $37.625M
Amsterdam will pick-up option on Dwight Powell
Amsterdam approves. While Walker is a premium fantasy player, moving him allows me cap flexibility (I needed a salary dump). The additional 2 picks in the 2nd round will help rebuild this roster for the long-term. Powell is an up-n-coming PF who has potential to provide help along several scoring categories.
Many thanks Ryan for the help!

I approve - still transforming my roster to my liking. While I am not really all that much in favor of Kemba's salary, he is another piece that I can work to deal down the line.

Didn’t you just trade 3 first rounders to get kemba??? Yes, I did. And those 3 picks didn't cost me a thing - just an opportunity. As i said in my approval when i made the trade: "Walker will be an integral part to the building blocks of my new team." - I didn't lie...i need the value of his contract to generate more players. I'm picking up Powell, and 2 second picks that will be rostered at $500k each, and I pocket the contract difference in usuable cap space. I've been actively shopping Vucevic, but while he is a Top-25 fantasy player, no one likes his contract. This is my only alternative in creating cap space for young players. I approach rebuild by hitting singles, and an occasional double. Triples and Homeruns will be 1-2 yrs later. Look at how i'm building my roster. Now I only have 2 players on multi-year contracts.

So all in all you traded three 1sts a 2nd and $1M for three 2nds and Dwight Powell rights...

I am usually against vetoing trades even if they appear lopsided but if I were a mod I would probably vote against this given what you just traded for kemba. But I am not a mod so good luck to you

Yeah I'm sorry I honestly don't understand this as well. What are you going to use said cap space on?
I said in my acceptance of the other trade that that was a steep price for Walker and now you dumping him for a very weak price. I try to not vote against trades as well but I just don't see how this is proper use of assets.
I'm going to think more on this but if you can't tell I'm leaning no...

So all in all you traded three 1sts a 2nd and $1M for three 2nds and Dwight Powell rights... I got Walker on a 3 yrs contract (2023) at $14.5m - and gave away 2 1st (#6 & #18) which would've cost me $6.65m to use of the $20m i had available at the time. The 2021 1st rd pick could've cost me between $650k and $5.0m. But the reality is i didn't have to spend that money, someone else did. What i got in return was a $14.5m contract that I've flipped for a PF rental this season, two additional high 2nd round picks that will cost me $500k each, and i receive $7.00m in usable Cap space for a mid-level free agent or two. I'm not selling my future picks to pay for my current picks, and I've saved approx. $22m in cap space for next season while i develop a young roster. Mine is the long game...not the VERY SHORT game of scrambling to pay for my 1st Round picks.

I still don’t agree but I hate being the guy questioning a trade as long as there’s no collusion

The problem with this is you just proved Walker is worth 3 firsts and then you traded him for way beyond less than that. 2nd round picks are nothing. This trade should be vetoed for Tony’s sake, sorry Tony but if I were still a mod I’d veto it. Also this thread I don’t think is for discussion so my apologies

You logic here contrdicts itself. maybe you got too excited and traded 3 firsts for Kemba and now you want to undo that but that doesn't mean I can accept trading a good fantasy player for such a low value. I also think you very much underestimating what $7 Million will get you in Free Agency. Trading three firsts for Kemba was harsh to me but trading 3 first for Dwight and 2 2nd rounders is just malpractice. I'm going to vote no but others have their opinions too.
1-1

I rearly, if ever, veto trades. I'm really not a proponent of vetoing trades that owners have logic for. Amsterdam laid out his logic and although I personally don't agree w it, this is a fantasy league and everyone has their own strategy. I do not believe that free agency is the best way to build out a team, as players tend to go for a lot more than their market value. And, Kemba is worth muchhh more than Dwight Powell and 2 2nds.
1-2

When I read all of the arguments above, and combine this with the fact that these are brand new owners who haven't exactly shown their longevity yet, I have to reconsider. While I don't retract votes or veto often getting this little for Kemba is too sad for Thanksgiving. Happy renegotiating!
0-3.

I am rescinding the offer and cancelling the trade. I have notified Brooklyn separately of my decision. I appreciate the honest input I received. While I have a different view of an “asset” and how to utilize it, I appreciate where y’all are coming from. Thanks for the consideration.
