I wasn't intending to claim the player off waivers at his old contract......merely was asking if I could bid on him as a free agent just like everybody else is able to. Brandon Rush is the player and as he is now in a more favorable situation at GSW, I'm interested in bidding for him - completely separate to his old contract.....

Thats what TD meant. Once a guy clears waivers, anyone can bid on him, including the player's former team.

Damn I was hoping Rush would stay unnoticed until everyone had spended most of their money, but no he needed to go ahead and get hot right out of the gates. Sigh.

as somene who lives in the Bay Area, I assure you that we are not allowed to have a functioning bench as per league rules, so Rush will have a major injury soon enough.

I'm assuming Anthony Parker is now an approved signing for me? I am going to add him to my roster unless there are any objections......

Yeah really! He was just sent to the D-League but already recalled after 1 day because of the injury to Ginobili

I just have a general question on how the free agency works again. So any players I have on my roster where their contract ends in 2012, are they automatically on the free agent market or do I have an opportunity to re-sign them before they get to that point? Need to figure out how to make this crappy team somewhat competitive next year! Thanks!

My next question is how do we determine what we have to pay them on the re-sign and for how long of a contract can we sign them for, it is our decision? Sorry to ask all the questions, didn't see anything in the rules to really help.

Actually in the rules there's a whole section on Re-Signs that does explain all of this. Basically length of contract is the same, 4 years max. And the number you choose, you have to go a little research on what other players who produce similar stats are under contract for. You have to convince us Mods the contract is fair for the player from what they produce. We won't have the resign period until July when we figure out some Administrative issue first

TD, sign and trades? Yay or nay?
Also, if they're allowed, on which team does the re-sign fall?
I would say the team acquiring the player since the original team wasn't going to use a re-sign on said player. Essentially, the team acquiring said player would be "paying" for the right to keep that player off the market. Make sense?
No rush, obviously, and it probably something that can be discussed further in another thread.
