Bidding is not so bad. I have already seen leagues where Richard Jefferson got paid $35.000.000 a year ! And i agree with Pound that the length of the contract is very important. Overpaying for 1 year is not a big problem if you have enough cap space. Only 3-4 years deal can be real killers. Yeah, I understand how overpaying one a 1 year deal works (See Vince Carter on my team in Miege's league). But, if you look at the crap players that are getting huge deals in this league, it is nothing but laughable. You owners who are spending excessive amounts of money over multiple years for guys who are not that good, will give me a good laugh over the next couple of seasons.

I thought I would be a player in this weak free agency period as I have "buying power" with a ton of money to spend. But these prices are insane. I hope many of these overpriced players get multi-year deals and become albatross's on these teams necks for the years to come! I might just have to stay at 8 players for the start of the season. Yeah, I also though id be able to get at least one solid free agent but with these prices i refuse to even bid anymore lol. as Richardson said...im going to get a realll good laugh when these players become untradeable, hold little to no fantasy value and the owner is stuck with them for 2-3 more years

Austin Daye played 13.3 minutes per game last season and just got a $5M contract. I rest my case.

To be honest, most of the overpaying contracts are for 1 or 2 years only.
Only long term deals are for Daye and Hansborough who were rookies last year and may (or may not ?) improve in the next years.
Anyway, i am glad i was able to sign CJ Watson for 1M !

The more people spend now on multiple year deals on crap or unproven talent the happier I get because future quality free agents will cost less!

I'm fine investing $7M in Mozgov, for two years. That coupled with Warrick still gives me upwards of $25M in cap, and a full roster.
whichever idiot spent a first round pick on Greg Oden, and then topped it off by picking Mike Redd...

You should join the fun, bid on players you don't want to increase prices. After seeing Kleiza getting 9.5 million you can't be afraid of bidding 5 million on a similar player. Just make the idiots pay more, they will anyway.

It's just a shame I couldn't see his face so I could call his bluff! But no worries here. My man Big Ben was top 70 when you don't count FT % (and Rondo makes this game 1 category easier) so I'm good. Now as for Peja, where were you idiots at? Lol.

Hehe now Ben I wouldn't mind having on my team for one year, I was actually surprised you'd pay this much.

Years ago, after one very good season by Elvis Grbac of the Kansas City Chiefs I entered my fantasy draft wanting him as my QB. I interned for the Chiefs training camp and he looked sharp. My buddy ended up bidding him up on me to higher than I wanted to pay. So, I bid him up and we went back and forth a few more bucks. I decided I would push him one more and then stick him with an overpriced Grbac. He dropped out of the bidding.
I no longer bid past where I am comfortable with a player. I'll let some other schmuck do that tactic and potentially get stuck with either a player he does not want or is not happy with what he paid for said player.

Win for me too....i think I entered Free Agency targeting one player and had the cap space to spend....didn't really intend to spend first round money on the fantasy-stud that is Brad Miller. All sarcasm aside, I wasn't going to do anything else with the cap space for the year and anticipate him getting quite a bit of PT when Yao's leg finally just falls off.

If anyone won FA, its me. Booby Gibson, Jawad Williams, and Fesenko. Two starters, one sixth man.
CHAMPIONSHIP!
