Siddy's old team still needs an owner... Phoenix SunsAmnesty waivers will be granted, and the rookie draft and free agency are still happening. So, if any of you would like a challenge, the team's there.

The Orlando Magic are open in my league: miege.proboards.comIf anyone is interested, go ahead and make an account there and post that you would like them. Their roster actually isn't too bad (you would have the ability to amnesty waive players): Dwight Howard Joe Johnson DeJuan Blair Lamar Odom Jarryd Bayless Steve Blake CJ Watson Jason Thompson Dorrell Wright Jermaine Oneal Jonas Jerebko Jordan Crawford Brandan Wright Lance Stephenson Not great... but not totally hopeless either (though, they did trade their pick for this year).

As a member of both of Miege's leagues, I can agree about the quality of both of those leagues. On a side note, I am going to restart my miserable attempt of creating a league from two years ago. Here is the link. cowper23.proboards.com/index.cgi

Sorry for the blatant self-advertisement, but I'm looking for owners for a new league I'm creating. I want it to be different than all others, with a big emphasis on strategy and fairness. Here's a detailed description of the settings I intend to use for this 16-team ESPN H2H Most cats league: RosterThe rosters have 15 spots, of which 7 are active. This is to force owners to make lineup decisions which require good predictive skills, for example team and player matchups as well as player situations. With this I hope to achieve that owners can get an advantage by making informed decisions on who to play. DraftWith the custom rosters , I thought it was fitting to do an Auction draft to further allow owners to make their strategic decisions on how to form their team, and also give all owners equal opportunities. DivisionsThis year the divisions won't have a specific meaning, but next year, divions are formed according to results of teams. The best teams will be in the 1st divisios and the last teams in the 4th division. This has multiple reasons, the most important one is that every team has a fun schedule in which it has as even chances to win matchups. The stronger teams will have more matchups against other strong teams, so each week is an exciting one. To compensate for the tougher schedule of the highest division, they will have 3 playoff teams, while the Mortals division has only 1, with the remaining 2 divisions have 2 each. Furthermore, after the 2nd and consecutive years, every last team from each division will switch divisions with the best team from 1 division lower, so everyone has something to play for. ScoringWe have a H2H most cats format, because in my eyes that's the most exciting format. It's all or nothing in your matchup, so the excitement is higher and the glory bigger if you win your matchup. I needed a 9th category to make it work, and Free Throws Attempted will reward players that get to the line, and limit the bad impact guys like D12 have. Keepers/later draftsThere are 10 keepers; I chose this high number so at the end a season, strong teams can't improve as easily as with fewer keepers. With just a few keepers, strong teams can easily use their non-keepers to further strengther their core, which causes an imbalance in the league. Of course, weaker teams can also benefit from having fewer keepers, but in my experience, stronger teams usually get stronger and weaker teams not so much. But, to help weaker teams rebuild faster, they'll be getting the first round picks of the top division in exchange for their last round picks. No-one likes to lose, and rebuilding a team takes a long time and much effort, so with this measure I hope to help them out in that quest. Trade reviewsI'm not entirely set on this one, but initially I will personally review them, and there will be no vote on this. An alternative option is that I appoint 4 other owners to form a review team, in which case a trade will need 3 out of 5 approves to pass. There will be vetoes on imbalanced trades, because I highly value the competitiveness of the league. You can always add a motivation for a trade (for example, trading a vet for young upside or a trade to fill out positional needs) which the review team can take into account. DiscussionThese settings are open for discussion, though I have to say I'm not easily convinced. I will not change the settings because of a simple majority; I require you to convince me that there is a better way to make the league fun and fair for everyone.
