Since no one else wants to do it, here's where we stand in each conference:
TOON SQUAD
*1. Cleveland 12-1
*2. Kansas City 11-2
3. Houston 10-3
4. New Orleans 9-4
5. Munich 9-5
6. Strasbourg 8-5
7. Manchester City 8-5
8. Portland 7-6
---------------------------
9. Charlotte 7-6
(Everyone else is eliminated)
MONSTARS
*1. Hollywood 11-2
*2. Phoenix 10-3
3. Denver 9-4
4. Newark 9-4
5. Great Britain 9-4
6. San Diego 9-4
7. Thuringia 9-5
8. Amsterdam 8-6
-----------------------
9. Atlanta 7-7
10. Toronto 6-7
11. New York 6-7
(Everyone else is eliminated)
In the Toon Squad, Charlotte is going to win this week. Portland is locked in a dogfight with New Orleans. If they lose, they aren't out of it, but it will be tough. Fortunately, Charlotte has two tough match ups against Kansas City and Houston to finish the season.
Cleveland is currently losing to Houston, but the finish the season with Seattle and Palo Alto. If they win their last two, they'll get the #1 seed no matter what (head to head win over Kansas City).
Kansas City has the inside track on the two seed since they own the tiebreaker on Houston. They clinch the 2 seed with a win this week and a Houston loss.
The Hornets have caught fire, winning 7 of 8. They own the tiebreaker over Manchester, Munich and Strasbourg. After their game against Portland, they have two winnable games against Las Vegas and Brooklyn.
If I were a betting man, I'd say the top three stay the same come playoff time. After that, I'd go New Orleans-Strasbourg-Munich-Man City, in that order. I'll go with Portland to claim the last spot. Those last two games for Charlotte are TOUGH.
The Monstars Conference is an absolute mess. Hollywood probably wins this week to clinch the 1 spot. I have no idea what happens after that. We could be looking at 5 teams tied at 10-4 going into the last two weeks, with Thuringia sitting at 10-5.
I don't see any of the teams on the outside getting in. Amsterdam and Atlanta play in the final week of the season that will decide who gets in.
New York will need a miracle the last week of the season to beat Hollywood AND get a loss by Amsterdam to Atlanta.
This conference is a complete toss up.
